A fire incident occurred at Th. Veymandoo powerhouse on Wednesday.
The fire broke out at the powerhouse while some work was being done at the site. The powerhouse, as well as all equipment in the building has been destroyed beyond use. No persons were injured in the incident.
FENAKA Corporation, which runs the powerhouse, said power services have been interrupted in Veymandoo due to the fire incident. The utility company is working to restore power in the island at the earliest
