A seven hour curfew has been imposed in both Addu and Fuvahmulah City.
A directive issued by the Director General of Public Health, Maimoona Aboobakuru said a curfew will be in effect from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am every night in Fuvahmulah and Addu City for the next seven days. The public will not be allowed to be out and about this during this time. The DG also ordered a ban on travel between different wards of the cities and visiting households, as well as the closure of gyms, saloons and hairdressers.
HPA also banned gatherings of more than three people in public settings. All sports activities and exercise classes must be ceased, and taxi services must be provided according to the guidelines issued by HPA. Cafe's and restaurants can only provide delivery services, and shops and restaurants must follow the guidelines issued by HPA in providing services. Universities and colleges have been ordered to stop on-site classes and conduct online classes.
A partial curfew is also in effect in capital Male' where majority of COVID-19 cases are being reported.
