Five deaths in 24 hours, toll at 92

Five COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the Maldives on Friday.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), an 86 year old Maldivian male admitted at the Hulhumale Medical Facility passed at at 2:24 am early Friday morning. A 64 year old Maldivian male admitted at the same facility passed away at 6:30 am while a third death was recorded at 9:05 am when an 86 year old local female admitted at the DH11 facility in Dharumavantha Hospital passed away. The fourth death was recoded later in the afternoon at 12: 48 pm when a 78 year old Maldivian male brought to state run IGMH's ER was declared dead. The fifth death took place at 11:53 pm when a 663 year old Maldivian female admitted at DH11 passed away.

The country's death toll is now at 92. 19 COVID-19 deaths have been reported thus far this month.
