1,467 positive cases on Friday, tally at 42,775

The Maldives reported 1467 COVID-19 cases on Friday.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), 1,467 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the country's tally to 42,775. Out of these, 1,267 cases were from capital Male' and the remaining 200 cases were reported from the atolls.

HPA said out of the cases reported on Friday, 939 cases are positive cases from samples collected over the past 24 hours. The remaining cases are from backlog test samples collected over the last few days.

While 15,003 cases are active in the Maldives, 290 people are receiving treatment in hospital settings. 91 deaths have been recorded to date, while four deaths have been recorded over the past 24 hours.
