The Maldives on Wednesday reported 704 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), 407 cases were recorded from the Greater Male' Region while 289 cases were reported from the atolls, including resorts. This increases the archipelago's tally to 66,868 cases, out of which 23,909 cases are active at this time. 197 people are currently hospitalized and receiving treatment.
The Maldives recorded two COVID-19 deaths over the past 24 hours. This increases the country's toll to 171.
