The Maldives on Thursday reported two additional COVID-19 deaths.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a 90-year-old local woman passed away at 10:35 pm on Wednesday night at state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). An 81-year-old woman from Ga. Villingili passed away later at 4:55 am at GA Covid Management Facility.
President of Villingili Council Vishal Mohamed told AVAS that the patient from Villingili was taken to the GA COVID Management Facility three days ago. Her condition deteriorated and she was on ventilator support until her death, he added.
The country's toll is now at 212.
