Hoarafushi Airport services disrupted due to bad weather conditions

Hoarafushi Airport services have been disrupted once again due to bad weather conditions.

Earlier in May, wave surges in bad weather caused numerous damage to Horafushi Airport due to which flight operation had to be suspended for over a week. The Maldives is currently experiencing bad weather conditions once again.

Speaking to AVAS, Managing Director of Regional Airports, Mohamed Rizvy said no issues similar to that which occured in May were caused at the airport in the current weather situation. However, sand sediments have collected on the runway due to strong winds, and all flights scheduled for Sunday have now been rescheduled for Monday, said Rizvi.
