COVID-19: 13 islands under HPA monitoring

13 islands remain under the Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s monitoring status due to the islands' COVID-19 situation.

Although the number of islands under HPA monitoring decreased over the past weeks, the number has started increasing once again. Out of the islands that were put under HPA monitoring last month, nine islands remain in monitoring. They are Sh. Foakaidhoo, GDh. Nadella, K. Kaashidhoo, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi, Ha. Dhidhdhoo, M. Kolhufushi, Sh. Feevah, Ha. Thakandhoo and Dh. Kudahuvadhoo. Five islands were added to the list this month. They are Ga. Villingili, R. Ungoofaaru, L. Gan, L. Fonadhoo, and Aa. Himandhoo.

The island that has been under monitoring for the longest period is R. Dhuvaafaru. monitoring mechanisms were activated on the island on May 7.

The Maldives recorded 113 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours. The country's tally is now at 78,356.
