The Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s monitoring mechanisms have been lifted from Raa Dhuvaafaru island after 120 days.
Dhuvaafaru was placed under HPA monitoring on May 25 after COVID-19 cases were identified from the island. Dhuvaafaru is the island that has remained under monitoring for the longest period thus far.
HPA informed the island has been removed from monitoring on Thursday morning. In a letter sent to Dhuvaafaru Council by HPA, it said there is no longer any reason to keep the island under monitoring mechanisms.
The latest statistics by Dhuvaafaru Health Center show 25 cases are active on the island at this time. 1023 cases were identified from the island over the past four months.
