Daily stats: 84 new cases, one death

The Maldives on Friday recorded 84 new cases of COVID-19. This is the third consecutive day where the daily figures have remained below 100, and is the lowest number recorded over the past 25 days.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), out of the 3,109 samples tested over the past 24 hours, 37 cases were identified from capital city Male', while an equal number was recorded from the atolls. Nine additional cases were registered at operational resorts. This increases the country's tally to 83,332.

While 81,404 recoveries have been recorded to date, 1,686 cases are active at this time. 18 people are admitted at health care facilities, and 229 deaths have been recorded until now. The most recent death was recorded at 01:28 pm earlier on Friday at Hulhumale' Medical Facility.
