MVR 20 mln for Dharumavantha Hospital maintenance

The maintenance work of Dharumavantha Hospital has been contracted to two companies.

The Finance Ministry handed over the assignment to Turkish company Turmaks and Singapore company Shenhua Construction for a duration of three years.

Turmaks company is the same company that constructed King Salman Mosque in Male' City. The company has also supplied some equipment to Dharumavantha Hospital, while Shenhua company constructed the 25-story hospital.

The maintenance of medical equipment was contracted to Turmaks for MVR 4.6 million. The maintenance of some systems at Dharumavantha Hospital was handed over to Shenhua company for MVR 15.7 million.

As per the agreement between the parties and the Maldives government, the companies must train the hospital's maintenance staff.

Although state-of-the-art medical equipment is available at Dharumavantha Hospital, the hospital is still unable to deliver a satisfactory service.
