The Maldives on Friday recorded a new COVID-19 death.
According to the Health Protection Agency, a 34-year-old Bangladeshi male who was taken to S. Feydhoo Health Center was declared dead. This is the 265th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.
The Maldives' COVID-19 situation is worsening following the detection of the Omicron variant in the country. Over the past 24 hours, 816 positive cases were recorded, increasing the total tally to over 100,000.
