The Maldives on Sunday recorded a new COVID-19 death.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a 42-year-old local female admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Hulhumale Medical Facility passed away at 3:00 am on Saturday. This is the 270th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.
The Maldives is currently experiencing an alarming surge in infections. Over the past 24 hours, 2,349 new cases were identified in the Maldives, increasing the island nation's tally to 114,977.
