The Maldives on Wednesday recorded a new COVID-19 death.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a 50-year-old local female admitted at ADH. Dhangeth Hospital passed away at 12:24 am. This is the 272nd COVID-19 death in the Maldives and the eighth death of the month.
The Maldives is currently experiencing an alarming surge in COVID-19 infections. While 2,609 positive cases were recorded over the past 24 hours, 16,666 cases are active at this time. Out of these, 57 people are admitted to hospitals.
