The Education Ministry has set the school session timings for the upcoming Holy Month of Ramadan.
Ramadan this year will begin on April 2.
In a circular sent to all schools, the ministry said the school sessions must begin at 8:30 or 9:00 am and end before 3:00 pm. The ministry instructed schools to set the session duration for primary grades to 2.5 hours and 3 hours for secondary and higher secondary grades. The session duration for preschools will be 1.5 hours.
The ministry instructed the schools to allocate 30 to 45 minutes for each subject and arrange the timetable so that all subjects are covered in two weeks.
The ministry further said teachers' work hours must not exceed four hours and said no school activities must be carried out between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
The arrangement will be in effect throughout Ramadan and the first seven days of Shawwal.
