Maldives Police Service has seized 42 kilograms of drugs in a search operation.
The Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed announced via a tweet that the Drug Enforcement and Counter Narcotics Intelligence Department of the police force had been conducting a search operation since Thursday. He said the team found and seized approximately 42 kg of heroin hidden under a false flooring in a house in Maafannu and said that one person was arrested in connection to the case.
The CP shared pictures of the scene, which showed drugs inside a walled hole in the ground.
No residents occupy the house located near Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
