Supreme Court's SG suspended over investigation

The Secretary-General (SG) of the Supreme Court, Dr. Hussain Faiz, has been suspended.

Confirming the suspension, the Supreme Court on Thursday said the SG was suspended in relation to a case being investigated by the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA). Two serious allegations are made against the SG: Using the court's CCTV system to spy on the judges and leaking confidential information. The court said he would remain in suspension until the investigation into the matter is concluded. The court said that the Assistant SG would take on his responsibilities in his absence.

Dr. Faiz was appointed as the SG of the Supreme Court on January 7, 2019.
