Maldives Customs has seized drugs worth over MVR 21 million from a passenger that arrived in the Maldives.
Customs said the luggage of a passenger that arrived in the Maldives on May 3 was checked after he was flagged due to suspicious behavior. Upon searching, 4.226 kilograms of drugs were discovered in his luggage, said customs. The substance found in his belongings tested positive for cocaine and is now in police custody.
Customs did not disclose where the passenger traveled to the Maldives from.
