On-arrival visa arranged for Maldivians traveling to Indonesia

On-arrival visas have been arranged for Maldivians traveling to Indonesia. The announcement was made on behalf of the Maldives government by Foreign Minister and UN General Assembly President Abdullah Shahid.

Minister Shahid said Maldivians traveling to Indonesia would receive on-arrival visas from July 27 onwards. He thanked the Indonesian government for its decision.

Indonesia currently issues on-arrival visas to 75 countries. The issuance of on-arrival visas to Maldivians comes after President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih requested the Indonesian Ambassador to the Maldives, Dewi Gustina Tobing, to facilitate the arrangement during a ceremony held to hand over her credentials to the President on May 17.

Trade between Maldives and Indonesia is increasing, and the number of people traveling between the two countries for various purposes has also increased significantly. The number of Indonesians working in the Maldives is also growing.
