Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has sent a message of condolence to Her Excellency Retno L.P. Marsudi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, following the tragic death of more than 60 people due to the plane crash of Sriwijaya flight SJ182 on 9 January 2021.
In his message, the minister expressed his shock and sorrow at the news of the plane crash. He extended heartfelt condolences to Indonesia on behalf of the government and its people.
"At this hour of national grief and distress, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives and on my own behalf, I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency, the Government of Indonesia and the families of the deceased," the minister said in his message.
