Authorities have seized over 600 grams of drugs smuggled into the Maldives through courier.
Maldives Customs Service said 640.50 grams of drugs were seized during a search of parcels brought to the Maldives via courier.
The parcel was smuggled into the Maldives by air on September 17, and the contents of the parcel tested positive for the drug methorphane, said customs.
This is the first time methorphane has been seized while being smuggled into the Maldives. Customs have now handed over the drugs to police.
