Ghaazee School staff staged a protest on Wednesday, accusing the school's former administrator of corruption.
An employee of Ghaazee School in Hulhumale' who spoke to AVAS said the former school administrator is facing serious charges of fraud, theft, forgery, and others. The administrator is accused of making fake documents, forging medical certificates, awarding some work against regulations for higher prices than the standard prices, and hacking the systems of some employees.
After the complaints regarding the administrator were submitted to the relevant authorities, he was transferred to another section where he was still paid by the school. The school's employees are unhappy with the arrangement.
The employee added that the Education Ministry had conducted an audit of the school, which brought to light several issues. However, the ministry has not taken any action thus far, he said.
The Education Ministry could not be reached for comment.
