The police have arrested 17 suspects with 6.8 kg of drugs in a special operation.
Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed said the drugs were seized in an operation conducted on December 22. Ten places in Male' and Hulhumale' were searched during the operation.
The commissioner said MVR 933,430 was seized along with the drugs. The items were seized from a well-known drug trafficking group, he said.
The profiles of those arrested have not been publicized thus far.
