The Male' City Council is procuring ten buggies to provide transport services in Villimale'.
The ten vehicles will be brought to the Maldives later this month. Service will start early next month.
A private buggy service is already available in Villimale'. However, the service is not being provided properly. Due to this, the City Council decided to provide the buggy service in Villimale' at its 63rd general meeting held in August last year.
The council said the buggies would include a buggy that can carry luggage and cargo and a buggy that can be used to transport patients in emergencies.
Villamale' is the only neighborhood in the city where fuel-operated vehicles are banned.
