Third suspect arrested in connection with Manadhoo murder

An additional arrest has been made in connection with the murder of Naeema Moosa, a 62-year-old woman who was found brutally murdered in Manadhoo last month.

Naeema, who lived alone, was reported missing after she failed to show up for work and could not be contacted. On the evening of April 7, the police arrived at her residence and forcibly entered her room, where they found her lifeless body on the floor, bearing numerous stab wounds. Naeema was laid to rest on April 8 without a post-mortem examination. Earlier this week, it was reported that two arrests had been made in connection to the murder.

In a new development, the police announced the arrest of a third suspect on May 26 in connection with the murder. The 21-year-old local male was apprehended in Male' City.

AVAS has learned the suspect owned a car driven by the two suspects who were previously arrested.

The initial suspects who were apprehended have previous criminal records. Sources indicate that one of the suspects has already confessed to the murder.
