The government has awarded the contract for the construction of 30 housing units in Sh. Komandoo.
Rasheed Carpentry and Construction Pvt Ltd (RCC) was awarded the contract at a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry today. The contractor is tasked with designing and building the housing units within 300 days.
Each housing unit will have an area of 1,000 sqft and will feature bedrooms, bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry store room, as well as additional open space.
The value of the project is MVR 40.9 million. The project will be funded from the MVR 1.5 billion allocated in this year's state budget for housing projects across the islands.
