Over 600 complaints lodged regarding land recipient list

The Planning Ministry has said over 600 complaints have been submitted thus far regarding the interim list of recipients for the government's land owner scheme.

An official from the ministry told AVAS that most of the complaints were requests for clarification of information.

The deadline for submitting complaints is July 15.

A total of 23,088 people applied as single applicants and joint applicants for the landowner scheme, of which 19,875 are eligible. The provisional list includes 10,314 individuals as land recipients. The location from which the plots would be issued has not been disclosed thus far.

Three sizes of plots will be allocated under the program. The minimum plot size for an individual is 1,250 sqft, with an additional 400 sqft for each additional person in case of joint application. A total of 4,000 sqft will be allocated if the application is submitted by more than seven people.
