MP Jabir's company allocated a lagoon near Gaafaru

The government has allocated a lagoon to a company owned by Kaashidhoo MP Abdulla Jabir.

International Travel Consultancy, owned by Abdullah Jabir and his son Mohamed Jabir, was allocated a lagoon near K. Gaafaru.

According to a tourism ministry official, this allocation is in exchange for the Mathiveri Finolhu, which is situated within Aa. Mathiveri's lagoon. While the Mathiveri Island Council has requested to include the sandbank within the island's jurisdiction, the sandbank has been acquired for government purposes, the official said.

Jabir, who signed up for the MDP on June 25, is participating in President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's re-election campaign.
