Gov't publicizes Gedhoruveriyaa flat recipient list

The government has released the provisional list of recipients for the "Gedhoruveriyaa" housing initiative.

Releasing the list today, the Planning Ministry said the government has decided to issue flats to all eligible applicants.

The ministry said it would verify the accuracy of the information provided in the approved application forms before publishing the permanent list. In cases where the validity of the information provided cannot be verified, the ministry will follow the protocol as outlined in the declaration in the application forms. The ministry has asked for cooperation during the verification process.

Complaints regarding the provisional list will be accepted from today until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, August 22.

The flats include 4,000 two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments being developed by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation. The ministry received 14,489 applications for 2,800 three-bedroom apartments and 6,208 applications for 1,200 two-bedroom apartments. The two-bedroom apartments will be 650 sqft, and three-bedroom flats will extend to 900 sqft.

In a separate development, the construction of an additional 4,000 flats in Hulhumale was recently awarded to India's Calpator Projects International Limited (KPIL) on August 2nd. FDC awarded the project to KPIL with a completion date of 37 months. However, the government has not yet said whether the flats are included under the Gedhoruveriyaa scheme.
