Statistics have shown that 130,967 tourists visited the Maldives in September.
According to the Maldives Immigration, the number of tourists that visited in September increased by 16.9 percent over the same period last year. With this figure, the total number of tourists that visited the Maldives by September has increased to 1.36 million.
Most tourists in September came from China, with 25,065 arrivals, followed by India, with 14,092 arrivals, and Russia, with 12,375 arrivals. Germany, the UK, the US, and Italy also contributed significantly to the tourist numbers.
