Second round of 'Binveriya' Scheme to allocate land to eligible first-round applicants

Eligible applicants who did not receive land in the first round of the government's "Binveriya" scheme will be given land in the second round.

According to the Planning Ministry, Individuals listed under the "Included in second round list" status in the permanent list of applicants receiving land from the Male' area will be granted land from areas to be reclaimed from Giraavaru Uthuru Thilafalhu (Uthuru Thilafalhu).

Under the second phase of the Binveriya scheme, land will be allocated to people who have lived in Male' city for more than 20 years. The government has decided to dredge 215 hectares of land in Uthuru Thila Falhu for the purpose.

The Planning Ministry said those eligible and did not receive land in the initial round and were listed under the "Included in the second round list" are automatically eligible for the second phase of the Binveriya Scheme. However, if such individuals wish to apply jointly with other applicants for the second phase of the program, they can opt to withdraw their initial application and reapply.

The permanent list of land recipients in the first round of the government's land owner scheme includes 18,955 eligible people. The Planning Ministry had earlier said that 684 people who did not receive land in the first round were unmarried people aged 18-25.
