Four candidates vie for JP's Deputy Leader position

Four candidates have applied to contest for the post of Jumhooree Party's Deputy Leader position.

The JP has five deputy leaders, with one seat currently vacant after Iqbal Adam, the former deputy leader, resigned from the party to assume the role of Minister at the President's Office.

The candidates who applied for the Deputy Leader position are:
Former Deputy Minister of Tourism Assad Riza
Former Villimale' MP and Advisor to JP leader Qasim Ibrahim, Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik
Former State Minister of Transport and JP spokesperson Ali Solih
JP council member Mohamed Saeed (Boki Saeed)

The election of the deputy leader and other vacancies will be held on Sunday. JP council members will vote in the election tomorrow at 2:00 pm.

Currently, the deputy leaders of the JP include Aishath Nahla, former Transport Minister and wife of JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim, Dr. Ameen Ibrahim, former Transport Minister and Qasim's running mate in the recent presidential election, Ali Shah, former Fuvahmulah North MP, and Ahmed Saud, former JP Vice President.
