MDP parliamentary primaries ongoing in full swing

Voting has officially commenced in the opposing Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s parliamentary primary.

Voting began at 9:00 am and will continue until 5:00 pm.

The MDP primary will be held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm today. While 27 polling stations have been set up in Male' City, 95 are set up in the atolls.

According to MDP, in today's primaries, 25,325 individuals are eligible to vote in the primary, while 149 candidates are vying for 40 constituencies.

Meanwhile, 48 candidates have already been confirmed party tickets without undergoing a primary.

Members will be elected to 93 constituencies in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The Parliamentary election is scheduled for March 17, during the first week of Ramadan.
