A record number of tourists visited the Maldives on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday, Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal took to the social media platform X to announce that a staggering 10,213 tourists were expected to arrive in the Maldives that day. In his post, the minister thanked all the stakeholders in the tourism sector for this achievement.
According to the latest statistics released by the Tourism Ministry, February 3 witnessed the highest influx of tourists this year, with 8,900 visitors entering the country. Overall, more than 200,000 tourists have visited the Maldives thus far in the year, averaging at 6,398 tourists per day.
The number of tourists visiting the Maldives this year is 13 percent higher than the same period last year.
