Qasim appointed Chair of Public Accounts Committee

Maamigili MP Qasim Ibrahim has been appointed as the Chair of the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee.

The parliament began forming the standing committees of the 20th Parliament on Tuesday. While the ruling Progressive National Congress (PNC) holds a clear majority in the Public Accounts Committee Qasim, aligned with the government, was elected the Chair unanimously.

Prominent businessman and Eydhafushi MP Ahmed Saleem was elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.

Ahmed Saleem (Vice-Chair) - Eydhafushi MP
Ahmed Nazim - Dhiggaru MP and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament
Dr. Ahmed Shamheed - Hulhumale South MP and former Transport Minister
Abdulla Shareef - Kelaa MP
Hamad Abdullah - Fuvahmulah North MP
Mohamed Mamdhooh - Funadhoo MP
Abdul Ghafoor Moosa - Hanimaadhoo MP
Ibrahim Sujau - Baarah MP
Asadullah Shihab - Gemanafushi MP
Ahmed Azan - Hithadhoo Central MP
