Maldives Police Service has forwarded to PG the case against former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb and MNDF armory head Colonel Ahmed Fayaz (Papa) over the discovery of the weapons cache in Himbalhidhoo. The case was forwarded to PG on Monday.
The weapons cache was discovered in Himbalhidhoo after a Police operation carried out intelligence information. The weapons were shown to media in Iskandhar Koshi on October 31, 2015.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdullah Nawaz that night said the operation was a joint operation between Police and MNDF. MNDF Captain Ali Ihsan said the cache was discovered submerged in a bag.
Both Adeeb and Papa are under investigation and on trial on various crimes, with several years served on them.
