Customs has seized drugs being smuggled into the country inside the bag of a Bolivian Woman.
Customs inform that Passenger Clearance Officers checked the woman who arrived last Monday when she started exhibiting suspicious behavior. Upon conducting the search, the Officers found 2.153 kilos of what was later tested to be cocaine.
Upon further investigations, it was learned that these drugs were not intended to settle in the Maldives, but to move forward to another country. Maldives was used as a transit point in this case.
The seized drugs have been handed over to the police and they are currently conducting a further investigation into this matter.
