President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom Monday inaugurated the newly established clean water system and also kicked off a sewage system project in Meemu Atoll Mulak island.
Under the government's 'clean water for all' initiative the project worth MVR37.9 million has established two desalinization plants, capable of producing 40 cubic meters of water daily.
A 300 ton water storage tank and a complete distribution system has been established under the project which would cater clean water for 279 households.
President Yameen had also inaugurated a clean water system and kick started a sewage system project in the neighbouring Dhiggaru island earlier Monday.
