Bangkok authorities arrest Maldivian with drug possession

Bangkok authorities have arrested a Maldivian man carrying large quantities of drugs from DMK Airport.

According to reports from several Bangkok news outlets, the local mule has been identified as Adam Salia, aged 43 years. He was carrying 800 grams of heroin in possession at the time of the bust.

Bangkok officials confirm Salia was attempting to fly to neighboring Malaysia and reach Sri Lanka afterwards.

Thailand government is seeking to prosecute Salia for the possession and attempt to peddle Class 1 narcotics off country.

Similarly a few Maldivians were arrested from neighboring India recently carrying large quantities of illicit narcotic substances. Another three locals were arrested from Sri Lanka on a similar incident as well.
