Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Wednesday confirmed vehicle transportation on the Sinamale' Bridge will commence officially on September 7, although the grand opening is on Thursday August 30.
Minister Dr. Muizzu confirmed several celebratory activities have been planned in celebration of the grand opening of Sinamale' Bridge; starting from August 30 lasting until September 5.
Housing Minister further clarified the bus service of carrying passengers between Hulhule' and Hulhumale' will commence on September 7 as well; confirming government have procured buses for the transportation service.
Though bus transportation is set to commence on the said date, housing minister did not specify the passenger service rates.
The previously dubbed 'China-Maldives Friendship Bridge' was developed incorporating two separate lanes; one for public transportation via their own vehicles and the other for heavy vehicles.
The ring-road project; spanning from Hulhumale' ferry terminal all the way to Marry Brown at Male' south-west end, which also links with the bridge opening at Male' City will be completed before transportation on bridge starts.
