Housing Min confirms Male' east-end surfer point re-opening

The frequented surfing spot at the east side of Male' City, which closed down for public when Sinamale' Bridge development initiated back in 2015 will be open for public use again.

Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu confirmed local surfers can use the surfing spot once Sinamale' Bridge opens officially - which has been scheduled for Thursday, August 30.

Minister Dr. Muizzu stated the area was closed for public use to prevent any injuries or incidents on surfers since the bridge construction kicked-off.

Earlier when the surfing spot was closed surfers initiated a protestant movement to re-open the area. However, Maldives government sought an alternative solution of transferring surfers to a different surfing spot near to Male' City.
