China BUCG lands Madivaru airport contract

Kuredhdhoo Holdings managed Madivaru airport development project has been assigned to China's Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG).

The project's signing ceremony was held earlier at Huravalhi Maldives where Crown and Champa Resorts' director Mohamed Moosa signed on the contract on behalf of Kuredhdhoo Holdings while BUCG's international rep president Li Dausang signed from the contractor's end.

Government had assigned a contractor to develop Madivaru airport earlier in May 2018. Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer had signed on the agreement on behalf of the state while Mohamed Moosa, director of Crown and Champa Resorts signed from the contractor's behalf.

Previously used as a military training base, Madivaru airport development's investment is expected to hit USD50 million.
