Ministry of Tourism has decided to re-inspect all tourist accommodations in the Maldives.
Tourism Minster, Ali Waheed stated in a press conference on Thursday, following the recent surge in tragic incidents involving tourists, that all tourist accommodations and properties will be inspected by the Ministry within the next eight months, as instructed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The inspections will ensure if the accommodations are safe environments for visitors, and cross check the number of local employees working in local resorts, in addition to identifying the extent to which the resorts adhere to the rules and regulations mandated by the government.
The Ministry will be assisted by the defense forces during the inspections, said the Minister.
