A stolen safe containing MVR 550,000 has been recovered by Maldives Police Service.
Police revealed that the safe was found inside an abandoned house in Ungoofaaru after searching the house based on information received by the police. Signs of attempts to open the safe were visible, although the perpetrators had been unsuccessful in opening the safe. Therefore, the cash inside the safe was found intact.
The safe was stolen from the home of a businessman in Raa Ungoofaaru on Friday during the afternoon prayer time. A local man suspected of committing the robbery has since been arrested.
