A web portal has been introduced by Maldives Police Service for easy reporting of human trafficking cases.
The police revealed that the portal which has been in use since March was built with the assistance of United Nation's International Organization For Migration. The portal would help to expedite the investigation of trafficking complaints lodged all over Maldives. Increasing the priority given by the police to such cases is also a target of establishing the portal, they said.
Through the portal, users can file complaint with all embassies establish in the Maldivs. Changes will be brought to the portal as necessary after reviewing how the portal is being implemented for its purpose, added the police,
