The government has started discussions to restart the ongoing projects in Laamu atoll which are currently at a standstill.

Last weekend, Tourism Minister Ali Waheed visited the atoll and sought information on the halted projects and inspected the work sites.

The Minister’s visit aimed to identify the challenges and work that need to be done to widen local tourism in the atoll.

During his visit, he stopped at Baresdhoo island, which is being developed as a guest house island. The project has faced extreme delays.
