Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed on Friday stated that the police officers caught on video manhandling a suspect will be suspended.
The video footage showed officers in plainclothes handling a suspect roughly while searching a home in Maafannu ward under a court order.
In an tweet, the commissioner acknowledged the video and said the actions of the officers in question are unacceptable, assuring that the officers will be immediately suspended and investigated.
The video showed the plainclothes officers roughly shoving and jostling the suspect against a wall, attacking the suspect using their hands and feet.
