Contracts have been signed for the provision of Water Supply Facilities in three islands, and construction of water supply and sewerage systems in eight islands.
The contracts were signed on behalf of the government by Planning Ministry's Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed at a ceremony held at the Ministry on Sunday.
The construction of water supply and sewerage systems of Gulhi, Magoodhoo and Inguraidhoo, and water supply system of Maavah were contracted to Altec Maldives Pvt. Ltd.
Maradhoo and Holhudhoo's water supply system, and Maaungoodhoo and Lhohi's water supply and sewerage system were awarded to Static Company Pvt Ltd.
The contracts for the establishment of water supply and sewerage systems in Fihladhoo and Finey island, and the water supply system of Naavaidhoo were handed over to Sas E Construction Private Limited.
The projects are expected to be completed within 24 months.
