Officer in training passes away

An officer of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) who was in training at K. Girifushi has passed away.

MNDF revealed the Staff Sergeant Ali Riyaz from MNDF's Marine Deployment Unit II (MDU) took part in a BFT test held at Hulhumale' on Saturday morning. After returning to Girifushi following the test, the officer complained of gastric difficulties to another trainee before collapsing, said MNDF.

MNDF said Sergeant Riyaz was immediately brought to ADK Hospital in capital Male', where he was pronounced dead.
