A man who arrived to Maldives from Brazil has been caught with 4.67 kilogram of drugs.
Maldives Customs Service said the authority detained a 66-year old Australian man who arrived in Maldives via air on October 1st. The man and his belongings were searched after he exhibited suspicious behavior, upon which the drugs were discovered in his luggage.
Laboratory testing have confirmed the substances found to be cocaine. The seized drugs are estimated to have a street value of over MVR 16.3 million, said customs.
The man and the drugs have been handed over to the police.
